Suzuki Grand Vitara Marine Concept Makes a Splash

Suzuki likes to say that the 2011 Suzuki Grand Vitara can go just about anywhere thanks to its rugged, refined design and off-road capable four-wheel-drive system. While the Grand Vitara may be a back-road warrior, its all-terrain capabilities stop short at water, a fact that bothered a group of students at Ohio Technical College.

With water in mind, the students went to work crafting the Grand Vitara Marine Concept, which was on display at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) auto show in Las Vegas in early November. The concept vehicle sports marine-ready spot lights, fishing pole holsters and a Suzuki outboard engine.

While the Grand Vitara Marine Concept may not float, it certainly demonstrates the flexible design of the automaker’s best-selling SUV, which comes with a powerful 2.4-liter engine and a choice between rear- and all-wheel-drive. The Grand Vitara is just as roomy as it is capable, with 70.8 cubic feet of cargo space available with the back seats folded.

If you want to see how a Grand Vitara can add a little excitement to your life, stop in at our Massachusetts Suzuki car dealership and we’ll show you around a rough and ready Grand Vitara or one of the many other Suzuki cars we have in our showroom.
