Volkswagen Jetta Named a Finalist for Green Car Journal Award

Due to its improved aerodynamic design, spacious interior, innovative technologies and a 1.4-liter TSI® engine that returns an unbelievable highway mpg, the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta was rightfully named a finalist for the 2019 Green Car of the Year® Award by Green Car Journal.

The popular magazine had plenty of praise to give to this new Volkswagen sedan.

“Finalists for the 2019 Green Car of the Year® illustrate that ‘green’ comes in many forms,” said Ron Cogan, Editor and Publisher of Green Car Journal and GreenCarJournal.com. “Built on VW’s MQB platform, the seventh-generation Jetta offers a bolder design, greater interior space, lots of tech, and an EPA-estimated 40 highway mpg fuel efficiency rating, a milestone often achieved by hybrid powertrains, but in this case delivered by the Jetta’s 1.4-liter TSI® gasoline engine.”

Volkswagen, in turn, was thrilled to learn about the honor.

“We’re so pleased to be selected as a finalist for the Green Car of the Year® award,” said Derrick Hatami, Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and After Sales for Volkswagen of America, Inc. “This further validates the Jetta as an exceptionally competitive offering in the compact sedan segment, where efficiency is top of mind.”

We’ll have to wait and see how the 2019 Jetta performs in the finals, which will be judged by notable people including celebrity auto enthusiast and Massachusetts native, Jay Leno! In the meantime, be sure to view the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta models available at Mastria Volkswagen.
