Subaru Recalls Legacy and Outback models for Steering Issues

2016 Subaru LegacyAt Mastria Subaru, we always want you to be as safe as you can be out on the road. Our main mission is protecting our valued customers, and we take our role very seriously. That’s why, in the name of transparency, we want to be sure you’re aware of a recent recall on new Subaru models.

A safety recall report released earlier this month by Subaru corporate stated that an issue in some vehicles may cause the steering column shaft to not work properly. According to the notice, “if this were to occur, the steering wheel may rotate freely and the driver would lose the ability to steer the vehicle.”

This recall affects some of the more recent Subaru models on our lot, including:

  • 2016 Subaru Legacy
  • 2017 Subaru Legacy
  • 2015 Subaru Outback
  • 2016 Subaru Outback
  • 2017 Subaru Outback

As we said, our goal is always to ensure your safety on the road. Subaru is a brand many have trusted for generations, and we want to be sure your car performs the way it should. If your vehicle was named in this recall, we welcome you to come right to our Subaru dealership in Raynham, MA. We’ll check your steering column for you, and if it wasn’t built properly we’ll replace it quickly. If you’re unsure of whether your vehicle is a part of the recall, you can enter your VIN here to find out.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.
